Recently Godi India received BIS certification for it's LFP cell. It has prismatic shape. It's energy density as per Godi is 165-170 Wh/kg. Charge discharge rare of these cells is 1C-1D. This is named Falcon series, they are planning to have multiple sized prismatic LFP. Below is a image of one such cell.
Godi also previously has a 2170 NMC811 cell which has energy density of 260 Wh/kg. As per CEO Mahesh Godi "More than 275 Wh/kg cell development is on with high nickel cathode and silicon anode materials."
Further in email he told us that "Godi cells were tested by multiple OEMs in smaller quantities. Larger quantity cells testing in battery packs is pending."
"Active discussions in progress at present with domestic and international automotive OEM’s."
Godi is also working on 4680 and 46100 cells also with Nickel based chemistry.
We have pics of 46100 and 2170 NMC cells.
So summing up cells shape and chemistry
Cylindrical - Nickel Based
Prismatic - LFP
Godi recently also announced a ~13GWh Cell manufacturing facility in Telangana. As per Mahesh, they are hoping to have it operational by end of this year or early next year.
Approx 7GWh is planned for Nickel based cells and 6GWh for LFP hence catering to all possible customers.
This is exciting developments in India, wishing the team best and waiting to see the production ramping up⚡.
