Club Co Founder Arun Bhat continues the trip.
Completed 857 km road-trip with my fully Electric #Konaelectric . Return trip was going to be challenging with the uphill ~30 km ghats. Started from my farm house at 5.30 am. Had charged will the 'portable' wall charger upto 90% overnight and at 4:30 bumped upto 100% .
Stats at the start of trip, GOM range indicated 379 km at 100% SOC with out AC.
Averaged 7.2 km/kWh before the steep climb up started with AC at 24°C and ventilated seats on. Reached Sakaleshpur at 7.59 am with 60% SOC and indicated range at 217 km.
Stats on reaching Hassan at 9.07 am : 139.9 km traveled at 6 km/kWh.
Reached Swati Delicacy my destination for topping up vehicle charge at 10.26 am with the following stats: SOC 18% , indicated range 54 km with climate on. Distance to my home was 90 km and office 79 km.
Decided against going to office for top-up and wanted to reach home directly, hence the goal was reaching 30% SOC from the 18% at arrival. By the time everyone used the restroom and had some food and the play area used to the hilt by the kids SOC reached 30%( ~1 hr 45 mins) .
So range on GOM was 96 km and distance to home was ~89 km. And we made it with 13 km on the GOM and 3% SOC :) . 297.8 km travelled at 7.3 km/kWh consumption and 5 hr 41 mins drive time.
Now plugged into my Brother's e2o 3 kW charger. Here's the customary Ather Energy 450 , e2o plus and my Kona Electric photo.
This return trip was with an elevation gain of close to 900 mtr. So the 7.3 km/kWh is awesome, and oh yes I crossed 6000 km mark on my #Konaelectric during the trip.
Bus travel cost ~1000/- one way X 4 people X 2= ~ ₹8000/- .
If I would have travelled in my Audi Q3: 857/11= 85.7 L of Diesel X ₹68/L = ₹5,827/- .
In my Kona : 857 km at ~ 8 km/kWh = 107 units (kWh) of power consumption; @ ₹8/unit average, total trip cost = ₹ 858 .
