Here is part 1 of another Kona trip Arun is taking from Bangalore to Mangalore(return in part 2).
Take a look at the Part 1 & Part 2 of his first trip.
Another onward trip to Mangalore completed with my Kona Electric. Since this was my second trip I was more confident of the range and drove with AC at 23°, ventilated seats on and drove in comfort mode (vs ECO mode earlier).
Skipped/reduced time of charging compared to earlier-
Did not go to office which is 18 km away from home(on the way, hence would have again been 100% SOC if I had charged).
At Swati delicacy plugged in only for 30 mins(time taken for breakfast, added 8-9 km)vs 1 hr last time.
Reached Advaith Hyundai Hassan at 39% SOC and 139 km of range left. Averaged 7.7 km/kWh. Plugged in to charge at the wall charger there for 30 mins and added 35-40 kms .
Reached my farm house having covered 312 km and 81 km range still left. Averaged 9km/kWh . Plugged into to charge with my "portable wall charger" and charged for about an hour and added 78 km. Now onwards to my next destination. This time drove at 110-120 in the good stretches.
The entire journey had been a breeze. Loving the EV road trip experience. If even one DC charger comes up , which eventually will, then it'll be even more fun. Hope with the ZS EV, Nexon EV and other Evs coming up, DC charging infrastructure will come up.
Return trip i.e. Part 2 coming tomorrow.
