Kona owner Akhil Krishnan took a 385km long drive in his kona electric from Bangalore to Coimbatore.
Pushing the Kona. off to Coimbatore. One way 380 km!
After 100km
Just over half way to my destination!
300 is up!
Reached Coimbatore. Final stats
16km range still left.
Flawless performance from start to finish. 410-420 quite possible with this result, if driven in cooler temperatures/in the night. Cost of fuel for 385km = Rs. 240 (in Bangalore). As against Rs. 2900-3000 that my Ford Endeavour 3.2L would've guzzled. EVs for life!
25 out of 385 in the city. Rest of the 360 were open roads.
Kept the speeds between 75-90 depending on traffic. AC was on for 30% of the drive. Total drive time was 6 hours. Would have taken same in a ICE equivalent too.

Interesting read.

Clearly shows: a little bit of planning and anticipation takes you safely to your target.
At much lower fuel cost. Much better for the environment. Especially if renewable energy rises in the average electricity mix...
Cheers
