It's been a while since I updated the forum about savings made via solar. First things first, here are my TATA power bills from November and December 2019.
November 2019 — Net producer of electricity by a measly 12 units; got fixed charges on the bill got subsidized.
December 2019 — Consumed more than produced because of halogen heaters. Net consumed 94 units (106 units for the month and negative 12 units from the month before), got full subsidy again.
The system has produced 1.65Mwh so far at the time of writing this. Upon calculating the expense saved so far assuming an average rate of unit 6rs (I know it ranges from 3-8 but don't want to inflate / deflate savings), it turns out to be around 10k so far.
Also, a big shout to Mr. Kejriwal who subsidizes electricity bill if 200 units are consumed (50% subsidy if you consume between 201-400 units). This means additional savings of at least 1000 bucks each month and if you consume 200 units more than your solar produces, that's an additional 600 bucks subsidized by the government.
Disclaimer: Please use electricity judiciously - any subsidy or lack of it should not lead to moral hazard.
